For the past several years Xuman and Keyti have been rapping the Senegalese news in their ‘Journal Rappé’, thus making it more accessible for a wider, mostly younger, audience. Seeing as Senegal’s population has a median age of just over 18 years old this seems to be a good strategy. One of their latest items concerned Tax Injustice in Senegal. This rap video was a response on CRAFT’s just published report on Tax Justice in Senegal and Oxfam’s report ‘An Economy for the 1%‘. The latter shows that as of October 2015 the 62 richest billionaires own as much as the poorest half of the world’s population, whilst the richest 1% now have more wealth than the rest of the world combined.
