"In just three short years, the IBFD Africa Tax Symposium has become Africa’s key tax event, drawing together tax professionals from industry, practice, government, civil society and the judiciary.
The symposium is an initiative of the IBFD Centre for Studies in African Taxation (CSAT). CSAT is an autonomous think tank devoted to the study and development of African taxation.
For our fourth year, the symposium moves back across the continent to East Africa, taking us to Mombasa – the second-largest city in Kenya. Situated on the eastern coastline of Kenya bordering the Indian Ocean, Mombasa is famous for its tranquil beaches, world-class hotels and all-year tropical climate. The Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort is conveniently located just 20 kilometres from Moi International Airport and is a 20-minute drive from the city centre.
As news quickly spreads of the success of the symposium, we continue to attract world-class speakers, and 2018 will again be a true reflection of this. Every year we ask our delegates to provide us with feedback on the symposium, which contributes to improvements on the next year’s programme. By listening to you, and with the experience of our esteemed speakers, we are able to deliver a dynamic and groundbreaking programme that helps to navigate the current and future African tax landscape.
Highlights for the 2018 Africa Tax Symposium:
- Impact of the Multilateral Instrument on Bilateral Tax Treaties
- Challenges of the Digital Economy in an African Taxation Context
- Recent Key Developments in International Taxation of Relevance to Africa
- Transfer Pricing and Indirect Tax Challenges in Africa
- Global Exchange of Information and Tax Transparency in the Post-BEPS Era
We look forward to warmly welcoming you to our 4th Africa Tax Symposium. Whether you are a returning or new guest, we are sure this event will continue in its success and not disappoint!
