The mission of the FTM project is to provide the public, that is to say, the citizens, and civil society organisations (CSOs) with a quantitative and qualitative analysis and overview of all components of the national tax system. The specific country reports identify the main policies and practices that affect the fairness of the tax system and include context-specific policy recommendations that improve or build on existing ones. These recommendations are expected to help policymakers, in partnership with other stakeholders such as CSOs and citizens to introduce appropriate amendments that ensure fairness in the distribution of the tax burden.

Our vision for the future is that the project will grow in terms of the number of countries, and in terms of the quality of the research framework and methodology. The project will be regularly updated and we envision it to be a reliable source of information, as well as a helpful analysis related to fiscal policies and practices.
